Admin Officer - Children's Diabetes Centre
The Children's Diabetes Centre is based at the Telethon Kids Institute and Princess Margaret Hospital (www.childrensdiabetescentre.org.au) (shortly moving to Perth Children's Hospital) and was established in 2015 by a Centre for Research Excellence (CRE) grant from the National Health and Medical Research Council and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Australia. Living with this chronic and incurable disease has a major physical, emotional and financial impact on individuals and their families. Our uniquely holistic research program incorporates state-of-the-art technologies, therapies and education that are all aimed at improving the quality of life for young people with Type 1 Diabetes.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Admin Officer to join our busy and committed team of researchers. The purpose of this role is to provide effective administration support to the Co-Directors of the Children's Diabetes Centre, as well as the Centre's Management Team and researchers.
- The position will provide support with account management of study budgets including invoicing, payment processing etc
- Support the work of the Children's Diabetes Centre to enable smooth functioning and achievement of goals within time constraints
- Assist and manage the Co-Directors' with diary management, monitoring and responding to emails and prioritising correspondence, organising meetings and handling travel arrangements
- Manage team events and staff functions
- Ensure all invoices and payments are processed and maintaining the centres finance filing systems
- Provide support for document management including the formatting/typing of correspondence, submissions, agenda's and presentations
- Coordinate submission processes for grants and funding opportunities from national and international institutions and funding bodies, and post-award activities such as progress and financial reporting
- Assist the research team with administrative activities as required
- Manage office requirements including printers, petty cash, stationary and study archiving
This is a Fixed term position for 12 months with the possibility of extension with the flexibility of being Full time or Part time for the right applicant.
Remuneration package includes access to generous salary packaging. The successful candidate will need to provide a National Police Check before commencement.
