Grants Officer
The Research & Development team provides strategic and operational support to the Institute's research teams, and has a crucial role in facilitating research outcomes. The team is involved in developing and maintaining the Institute's research profile; research administration; grants and funding; developing and implementing research policies and procedures; and commercialisation of research outcomes.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced team player with a collaborative approach and proven expertise in the administration of research grants, contracts, fellowships, provides administrative support to internal funding schemes as required and assists in the data management of the Institute's grants management system.
We are looking for someone who:Has a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency.
- Has comprehensive knowledge of national and state competitive health research grant and contract opportunities from government and non-government sources, in particular NHMRC and ARC.
- Is proficient in electronic grant management systems (e.g. NHMRC & ARC) and demonstrates experience in health research grant management/grant administration.
- Has excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to manage varied and conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates well-developed communication skills including interpersonal, verbal and written reports.
- Has a high standard of proficiency in the use of computer software packages and demonstrated aptitude and ability to developing spreadsheets, databases and power point presentations.
- Previous experience in a University or Medical Research Institute grants office will be an advantage. This is full-time role for a fixed 12 month term.
