PhD student - Clinical Epigenetics
The Clinical Epigenetics team at Telethon Kids Institute is engaged in understanding the links between the molecular hallmarks of epigenetic control and childhood disease. We use high-throughput technologies to decipher the gene regulatory landscape in different diseases, mainly immune-related and neurodegenerative.
This PhD scholarship program is a unique opportunity for an exceptional postgraduate student with either formal training in bioinformatics / data science or relevant experience in data science to undertake advanced studies in epigenetic research.
We are seeking students who are open to cross-disciplinary training in the lab as well as developing their bioinformatics experience. Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate high academic achievement or have completed honors or masters programs.
Please submit a cover letter addressing the following selection criteria:
- Undergraduate training (any specializations, completion date and Uni)
- Evidence of high level academic achievement (final year undergraduate course grades, any relevant honors or masters grades)
- Bioinformatics / data science / machine learning training or experience
- Knowledge of programming languages
- Any experience with high performance computing (optional)
- Any laboratory experience (optional)
A scholarship is available to support your studies and we are seeking students who can potentially begin immediately or in the near future.
The successful candidate will be asked to provide a Working with Children's Check and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
