Post-Doctoral Researcher – CRISPR Gene Editing
The position will be involved in creating and applying state of the art CRISPR genome editing to proof of concept scientific problems and functional genomic studies in a larger effort to establish an integrated solution for a next generation genomics program at the Telethon Kids Institute.
Be involved in creating and applying state of the art CRISPR genome editing to proof of concept scientific problems and functional genomic studies. The work will lead to the creation of a clinical pipeline utilising omics approaches and will contribute to the creation of a clinical pipeline utilising omics approaches to improve a patients' wellbeing.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a PhD in Molecular Biology or a related discipline completed within the last five years
- Have a background in CRISPR/Cas engineering and cell culture
- Be successful in at least one first author publication
- Demonstrate knowledge of research methodologies
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate in English to an international scientific audience
- Have an excellent record of productive and creative research as proven by publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative and frequently interacting teams of researchers
- Demonstrate the ability to set goals, develop priorities and meet deadlines
- Manage multiple priorities and a demanding schedule
- Have good interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
This is a full time position, for 12 months with the possibility of extension. Remuneration package includes access to generous salary packaging.
The successful candidate will need to provide a current National Police Check before commencement.
