Research Data Manager
This role will sit within a broad team of specialists operating within platforms that directly support research programs. These platforms span Clinical Research, Data Services, Bioinformatics, Bioresources, and Biostatistics.
The role of Research Data Manager requires someone who understands the life cycle of research data, from collection and storage, through extraction for analysis and onto archival.
- We are looking for someone with experience and enthusiasm in data management to work with our researchers to reduce the barriers and overheads to achieving best practice in data processes.
- This entails gaining an understanding of research projects and advising on data collection platforms, liaising between database analyst/programmers and researchers to refine project specifications, and overseeing those platforms available to researchers.
- The successful candidate will develop Standard Operating Procedures relevant to a number of data handling processes and work across the areas of data access, confidentiality, security, and storage/transport.
The Research Data Manager role will have close involvement with the new Telethon Clinical Research Centre, meaning they will work with colleagues from a variety of different backgrounds and areas of expertise.
Many studies will be initiated from this Centre, including clinical trials and longitudinal clinical research studies; the Research Data Manager will be required to work directly with clinicians, researchers, and study participants throughout the duration of these studies, including communicating with other data collection units (pathology etc).
This is a Full time position, Fixed term for 2 years with access to generous salary packaging benefits.
