Senior Research Officer, Fraser Mustard Centre, Adelaide
The Fraser Mustard Centre has been created to bring together leading Australian child researchers and innovative government policy makers and planners. Based in Adelaide, the Centre is a research collaboration between the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) and the Telethon Kids Institute. The Telethon Kids Institute has a proven track record of successfully translating research findings into actions that make a real difference to the lives of children. By working with the Department for Education and Child Development, key decision makers have first-hand access to the research that provides valuable insight into the development, education, health and wellbeing of children and young people.
The Senior Research Officer will be responsible for coordinating and undertaking research and policy works on the Early Intervention Research Directorate (EIRD). EIRD is an initiative that will consider evidence-based knowledge in the planning and evaluation of services for early intervention and prevention of child abuse and neglect. The EIRD has partnered with a consortium of experts from Adelaide University, University of South Australia and the Telethon Kids Institute. The Senior Research Officer will be required to develop, conduct and manage a research program to meet the EIRD contract requirements on behalf of the Telethon Kids Institute.
The ideal candidate will have an Honours/Master's degree in a related discipline, e.g. Public Health psychology. Experience in high-level program and/or project management, experience undertaking systems mapping, executive level communication and negotiation skills and experience working in highly politicised environments.
Experience in the field of child development research and knowledge of child protection, public health and/or early intervention are highly desirable.
