Program Manager

Johanna Rewa is a Program Manager in the Human Development and Community Wellbeing (HDCW) team led by Francis Mitrou. She manages the administrative operations of the team, overseeing general management and assisting with funding strategy across all projects, while taking direct oversight of all HDCW grants and tenders except for the ARC Life Course Centre and NHMRC Synergy grants.

 

Johanna believes her key priority is to ensure the HDCW team she manages supports the overarching strategic goals of the team, program and Institute, driving value and aligning with the long-term vision. Resource management is a core component of her role. She prioritises effective allocation and optimization of resources to ensure that grants and tenders are delivered on time and within budget, while also adapting to any unforeseen changes. Committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement Johanna regularly seeks feedback, and implements lessons learned to enhance future project delivery and efficiency.

 

Johanna has supported research development and administration across multiple state and nationally competitive grants. Her expertise lies in research administration, qualitative research with a focus on food insecurity in Australia (3 published journal articles), quantitative data collection related to respiratory diseases, community development strategies leading to systemic change and evaluation of community level projects.

 

Johanna holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Exercise Science) with Distinction – Deakin University and a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) – Edith Cowan University. She is currently undertaking a Graduate Certificate in Commerce – University of Western Australia (due for completion October 2025).
